Hey, I’m Anna, sales and business growth expert and founder of Connections & Growth.
So many great opportunities have come to me in business because I put myself in the right rooms, and started conversations with the right people. So I know that the best opportunities in business begin with just one decision or one conversation.
Networking consistently brings me great fun, inspiring and thought provoking conversations.
It also brings me new clients, useful connections and opportunities.
But I’m very picky about where I spend my time. I’m allergic to pushy tactics, and while I love people and connection, I'm a massive introvert and actually often quite shy. I'm sometimes a wee bit socially awkward, don’t love crowds, small talk or wasted time.
So when I built this community, I really wanted it to be all the good bits of networking with none of the bit's I'd rather leave behind.
That’s why it's designed to be friendly, warm and fun but also efficient, pitch-free, and focused on real connections that grow your business. The type of networking that I want to go to.
I’m very picky about networking
I am pulled in many different ways in life and business, probably just like you are? My time is limited and precious. I know that yours is too.
If I'm spending time going to networking I want great conversations with people I’m interested in getting to know, and I want to leave feeling that it was a good use of my time.
If you’ve sat through endless pitches or left an event without having a proper conversation, you’ll understand why I wanted to create something different.

The right people - I want to make relevant connections. And I want to spend time with ambitious business owners who genuinely value relationships, collaboration and supporting one another.
Connection over pitching - The best opportunities come from meaningful conversations, not cold selling to everyone you meet.
Natural referrals over forced collaboration - Referrals happen because people know, like and trust you, not because you're expected to pass business after one conversation. I only refer when it's right, not just because I met someone once over a tepid coffee at a business brunch! I hope you do the same.
Energy - Networking should leave me energised, inspired and full of opportunities, not wondering where my afternoon and motivation went.

If you’re wondering whether you’ll know anyone or what you’re going to say, please don’t worry. There’s no time for any awkwardness.
Here’s what a session looks like
I’ll guide you through the session. Over the course of the hour, you’ll be split up into breakout rooms of 2–4 people and given a conversation prompt each time to get you started. You’ll have a chance to introduce yourself, share what you do and get to know the people you’re with. You should meet 6–8 people in the hour.
There’s no 60-second pitch to prepare. You don’t need to arrive feeling full of confidence, either. Come as you are, ready for a few good conversations. We’ll take it from there.
